Acrylic, also known as specially treated plexiglass, is a replacement product of plexiglass. The lighting made of acrylic has good light transmission performance, rich colors, beautiful and smooth, can take into account the two effects of day and night, and has a long service life.
The production methods of acrylic sheet mainly include: casting molding, injection molding, extrusion molding and thermoforming. There are four flowers, one for each table, and four different production processes are introduced below.
Casting production method
Pouring method-Casting requires the use of molds, and the texture, shape and structure of the processed products are very complex, so the production scale is suitable for small batch production. Products produced by casting methods have high toughness and strength, and also have good decorative properties. Therefore, the crafting and decoration industries often use casting methods. Casting products need to be processed after treatment, after which the treatment conditions are incubated at 60°C for 2 hours and at 120°C for 2 hours.
Extrusion method
Polymethyl propylene ethyl methacrylate can also be prepared by extrusion molding, using particles prepared by suspension polymerization to prepare organic glass plates, rods, tubes, sheets, etc., but the prepared profiles, especially plates, are not as good as casting profiles. Due to the low molecular weight of polymers, especially for pipes and other casting molds. Difficult to manufacture profiles. Extrusion can be carried out with a single-stage or two-stage vented extruder with a screw length to diameter ratio of 20-25.
Extrusion is a way to achieve large-scale, large-scale mass production. The reason is that the extrusion method can be fully automated, and the advantage is that the processing is not flexible, and the process flow and product model are not easy to change.
Injection molding production method
Injection molding uses granular pellets, which are formed on a common plunger or screw injection molding machine. Typical process conditions of injection molding: injection molded products also need to eliminate internal stress. In processing, the processing time depends on the thickness of the product in a hot air circulation oven at 70-80°C, and generally takes about 4 hours.
Problems in the production process
(1) Bubble problem
Acrylic production is the same as other alloys, and foam is the biggest trouble. Every process and process in the production process is to prevent the storage of air bubbles in the body of the processed product. Once the bubbles are formed, it will cause great damage to the aesthetics and rigidity of the processed products. Moreover, most acrylic products are transparent and difficult to sell after bubbles are generated, so the processing cost is greatly threatened. Regardless of the type of processing, care must be taken to clean the gas and ensure a vacuum.
(2) Transportation issues
Certain protective measures must be taken for transportation. Whether it is the circulation between the equipment in the production workshop or the road transport, certain protective measures need to be taken. Although the toughness of plexiglass is much higher than that of plexiglass, it is not too hard and the impact resistance of PC is not good. Once cracks occur, the entire plate will gradually crack. Therefore, when transporting acrylic, a protective film and a vacuum device should be used to fix the material to prevent irreversible consequences caused by collision.
